| Entry Requirements : |
• 16 years old and above
• At least GCE “O” level or
GCE “N” level or equivalent |
| Course Syllabus : |
• Student will have an understanding
of the reason and indication of the use of massage
therapy and other therapies eg. Reflexology, reiki,
homeopathy, yoga, acupuncture etc.
• Student will have knowledge and understanding
of the anatomy and physiology of the body
• Student will be proficient in applying
full facials treatment –include skin analysis,
superficial cleanse, toning, pre-heat treatment,
deep cleansing.
• Student will be proficient in massage
face and shoulder and moisturizer.
• Student will be proficient in applying
tint eyebrows and lashes, eyebrow tweezing.
• Student will be proficient in select the
appropriate type of mask for the client.
• Student will have knowledge of cosmetic
science on skin care products
• Knowledge of First aid and Business
• Perform client consultation and plan facial
treatment of 60min. |
| Anatomy and Physiology : |
The structure and function of
cells and the following systems, cover the structure
and function of each organ and recognize the cause
and effect of the diseases and disorder: skeletal
system, muscular system, vascular system, lymphatic
system, neurology system, endocrine system, respiratory
system, digestive system, genitourinary system,
reproductive system, and skin. |
| Beauty Specialist Syllabus
: |
Study of skin diagnosis, full
facial & Body treatment for specific skin
types, handle adverse reaction from customer,
identify contra-indication to facial, Students
will be competent in aspects of skin care and
facial massage, after treatment follow-up. |
| Practical : |
Efficient preparation of the workplace,
hygiene, consultation procedures, record keeping,
professional image, listening skill and relaxation
techniques; client assessments and consultation;
recognize common ailments and contraindications
to facial; client handling before and during consultation
and before, during and after treatment. |
| Professional Conduct &
Business Awareness : |
Professional ethics, first aid
and salon safety, hygiene and sterilization, client
handling and business studies.
Examination will contain questions on the core
subject syllabus. |
| Case studies: |
Full facial Treatment: There will
be a total of 5 clients for the case study. 4
treatments will be administered on each client,
with the full consultation process, use of massage
technique, aftercare and home advice to be demonstrated
for each of these treatments |

| Examination : |
Two hours written paper covering
all aspects of the syllabus and core subjects
• One hour to cover: cleanse, skin analysis,
tint, tweeze, facial massage (10 minutes) &
mask.
• Oral questions at the discretion of the
examiner |
