| Course Syllabus: |
Anatomy and Physiology
Skeletal system, Muscular system, Skin, Cell structure
and cell reproduction, Vascular system, Lymphatic
system, Neurological system, Endrocrine system,
Respiratory system, Digestive system, Genitourinary
system and Reproductive system covers the structure
and function of the organs of the system and recognize
the cause and effect of the diseases and disorder.
Reflexology Theory
The history, theory and philosophy of reflexology;
understanding of different techniques; the concepts
and theories as to how and why reflexology works;
knowledge of zones and their relation to organs
and functions; reflex area(feet & hand); referral
areas/cross
references; reasons for client’s reaction;
referral procedures; theory of hand and feet treatments;
contraindications; the use of foot chart; home
care advices; philosophy of complementary medicine;
briefly describe other therapies.
Reflexology Practical
Efficient preparation of work place; hygiene;
consultation procedures; recording keeping; professional
image; listening skills; relaxation techniques;
reading the feet; reflex areas; interpretations
of reflexes; recognition of conditions/disorders
of hand, feet and nails; clinical observations;
hand reflexology and hand treatments for self
help
Professional Conduct and Business Awareness
Professional ethics, first aid and salon safety,
hygiene and sterilization, client handling and

| Course Requirement: |
Case studies:
16 clients to be treated four times each, treatment
include client profile, reading of feet, contraindications,
foot charts for each treatment, reactions during
and after treatment, home care advice, follow
up notes and summary.
Theory:
3 hours examination paper on all aspects of the
Syllabus and Core subjects
Practical:
Duration one hour – students will carry
out a consultation, reading of the feet, treatment
and give home care advice for self help. Findings
during the treatment will be recorded on a black
diagram of the foot, with a brief summary of the
treatment and advice given |
