| Course Syllabus: |
Anatomy and Physiology
Skeletal system, Muscular system, Skin, Cell structure
and cell reproduction, Vascular system, Lymphatic
system, Neurological system, Endocrine system,
Respiratory system, Digestive system, Genitourinary
system and Reproductive system covers the structure
and function of the organs of the system and recognize
the cause and effect of the diseases and disorder.
Theory
The body’s immunity system, the structure
& function of the lymphatic system, position
of the main lymph nodes and ducts in the body,
the connection between blood and lymph, diseases
and disorders of the lymphatic system., reasons
for client’s reaction; referral procedures,
contraindications, client-care, self-care, aftercare
& homecare advices; consultation techniques,
record keeping, alternative & complementary
therapies.
Practical
Efficient preparation of work place, hygiene,
consultation procedures, record keeping, listening
skills, professional image, recognition of conditions/disorders,
clinical observations, basic techniques and massage
sequence.
Professional Conduct and Business Awareness
Professional ethics, first aid and salon safety,
hygiene and sterilization, client handling and
business studies |
| Course Requirement: |
Case studies :
There will be a total of 5 clients for the case
study. 4 treatments will be administered on each
client, with the full consultation process, use
of massage technique, aftercare and home advice
to be demonstrated for each of these treatments,
follow up notes, over-all conclusion and reflective
practice.
Theory :
3 hours examination paper on all aspects of the
Syllabus and Core subjects
Practical :
Duration one hour – students will carry
out a consultation, treatment and give aftercare
& homecare advice. |
