Diploma in Chinese Massage Therapy

Training Hours :

360 Hours (Theory and Practical)

Full-time :

Monday to Friday (9.00am –16.00pm) total training hours 360 hours(6 hours daily)

Part-time :

Mon/Wed/Fri, (1900-2200) total training hours 360 hours (3 hours daily)

Entry Requirements:

• 16 years old and above
• At least GCE “O” level or GCE “N” level or equivalent

Course Objective :

• Student has an understanding of the reason and indication of the use of tuina & reflexology
• Student will have knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology
• Student will be proficient in recognition & treatment for common ailments and disorders of
body systems
• Practice good tuina and relaxation technique and observe the contraindication.
• Perform client consultation and plan treatments

Anatomy and Physiology (51 hours) :

Skeletal system, Muscular system, Skin, Cell structure and cell reproduction, Vascular system,
Lymphatic system, Neurological system, Endocrine system, Respiratory system, Digestive system, Genitourinary system and Reproductive system covers the structure and function of the organs of the system and recognize the cause and effect of the diseases and disorder

Chinese Massage Syllabus
(Theory – 120 hours & Practice – 189 hours)

• History and origin of Tuina massage
• The foundational principle of Tuina massage
• Effects and benefits of Tuina massage
• Applications of Tuina methods
• The precautions taken before Tuina massage
• Tuina massage movements, its application, effect and benefits of each massage stroke.
• The 12 meridians, its origin and effects
• Common ailments and disorders of nerves, muscles, joints and bones
• Treatment for common ailments & disorders of the body systems
• Equipments – the use and operation of equipment used in Tuina massage therapy
• Foot Reflexology – the map of the foot reflex corresponding to body systems
• Basic therapy on application and treatment for children
